510 thread is the standard screw-thread connection between vape cartridges and battery housings, used across nearly the entire cannabis vape market. The "510" name comes from the original e-cigarette cartridge specification: 5mm thread depth, 10 thread turns (M7 thread, 0.5mm pitch). 510 thread is the de facto industry standard — buy a cartridge from one brand, screw it into a battery from another, it works. Exceptions exist: Pax (proprietary pod system), Stiiizy (proprietary pod), JUUL (different thread, no THC). Most dispensary cartridges and most disposable hardware use 510. Battery selection for 510 carts: variable voltage batteries ($15–$40) let you dial in the heat for the specific cart; basic 510 batteries (under $15) are single-temperature. Higher-quality CCELL-branded carts perform best on properly-matched batteries — too high voltage burns the coil and ruins the flavor; too low produces weak hits. 3.0–3.6V is the sweet spot for most quality oil carts.
