A low-temp dab is a concentrate vaporization performed at 520–560°F (271–293°C) banger temperatures. This compares to high-temp dabbing at 600–800°F. Low-temp dabs preserve terpenes — most cannabis terpenes have boiling points in the 150–200°C range, so a 540°F (282°C) banger fully vaporizes terpenes without burning them. High-temp dabs combust the terpenes, producing a harsher, more cannabinoid-forward but flavor-flat experience. Technique: heat the banger red-hot with a torch, let it cool 30–60 seconds (digital infrared thermometers help measure), drop the dab, immediately cap with a directional or spinner carb cap with terp pearls inside, slowly inhale, then q-tip swab the residue while the banger is still warm. Equipment matters: a quality banger holds heat consistently, terp pearls agitate the puddle, and a good carb cap seals airflow. Low-temp dabbing is the standard for premium hash rosin — pressing at 180–210°F for the rosin then dabbing at 540°F respects the terpenes throughout the value chain.
