Full profile
Camphene is a cousin of α-pinene — same fresh-pine-forest character but with an added camphor-herbal quality that reads more medicinal than pinene's clean outdoor feel. In cannabis, camphene is usually a secondary or tertiary terpene accompanying pinene-dominant profiles. Boiling point 159°C puts camphene in the mid-range for dab-temp preservation. Outside cannabis, camphene shows up in fir trees, camphor laurel, nutmeg, and rosemary — any time you smell that menthol-pine intersection, camphene is present. Research on camphene is early but covers anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and cardiovascular activity. Camphene-notable cultivars tend to be earthy and grounding, often CBD-rich strains or heavy indicas rather than exotic-forward hybrids.
