THE COA IS THE SOURCE OF TRUTH
Never buy THCa flower from a brand that doesn't publish batch-specific COAs. The COA is the only document that certifies what's actually in the jar.
What to verify: the COA should list the specific batch ID (not a generic strain report), show an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab, have a test date within the last 60 days, and cover all 7 panels (cannabinoids, terpenes, pesticides, residual solvents, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins).
Red flag: COAs that only show cannabinoids (no pesticide or heavy metal panels) are incomplete.
CULTIVATION STANDARDS
Indoor vs outdoor: indoor grows have more control over environmental variables, typically producing higher-quality trichome development. Outdoor can be great but depends heavily on local climate and farmer skill.
Living soil vs synthetic: living soil organic cultivation tends to produce more complex terpene profiles. Synthetic feeding produces higher yields but can be harsher tasting.
Hand-trimmed vs machine-trimmed: hand-trimming preserves trichomes that machine trimmers shear off. Makes a measurable quality difference.
CURE QUALITY
Quality flower is cured 21–60+ days. Under-cured flower tastes grassy and smokes harsh. Over-humidified flower can mold.
Look for brands that publish cure duration and humidity targets. Rosin Royale cures 42+ days at 58°F / 60% RH and publishes those numbers on every batch.
SHIPPING + COMPLIANCE
Brand should clearly state which states they ship to and why. If a brand's checkout accepts any state, they're probably not gating compliance correctly.
Adult-signature delivery is non-negotiable. If a brand ships without signature requirement, they're creating liability for themselves and for you.
Discreet packaging is table stakes — no outside branding, plain tape.
BRAND RED FLAGS
No COAs: immediate dealbreaker. Don't buy.
"Total THC: 40%+": physically impossible in raw flower. Usually means they're using spray-on or mislabeling.
No ship-from address: reputable brands have a real physical location.
"Trust us" quality claims without documentation: quality shows on COAs and cultivation transparency, not in marketing.
No age-gate: if the checkout doesn't require age verification, they're inviting enforcement problems.
